Align your body, Master your movement, Transform your life.
Biomechanics Rehab (BR) provides physical therapy services specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of orthopedic musculoskeletal injuries and movement disorders. Imagine your pain is GONE - What are the things you would be getting back to? THAT’S THE MISSION! We achieve this mission through communication, physical therapy evaluation, coordinated goal setting, corrective exercise prescription, and education.
Eric Sanchez, PT, DPT, OCS is a board certified clinical specialist in orthopedic physical therapy with a deep interest and respect for the power of corrective posture, improved biomechanics, and movement analysis. He spent extensive time helping active duty military and tactical athletes get back to full duty. He also has considerable experience with 65+ and adolescent populations. He is clinically trained in the treatment of low back pain, neck and shoulder pain, hip and knee disorders, chronic pain, acute sprains and strains throughout the body, and more recently dry needling for tempormandubular joint (TMJ) pain and disorders.
Eric Sanchez holds a clinical doctorate in physical therapy from the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitative Sciences. Part of an active duty family, he moves about the country every 3-4 years, providing him the opportunity to continue building a diverse skillset in multiple patient populations around the country. A United States Air Force Veteran of 10 years, he maintains a deep passion for physical fitness and performance training, in the gym and on the track.
In addition to treating patients directly, Dr. Sanchez has interest in providing workshops and lectures throughout his community on trigger point release techniques you can do in your home to reduce local and referred myofascial pain, the benefits of dry needling and spinal manipulative therapy as a supplement to performance training, as well as the benefits of corrective posture exercises to offset the effects of time and pressure that pull us into forward head postures, rounded shoulders, and tight hip flexors.
Services
EVIDENCE-INFORMED treatment and INDIVIDUALIZED care plans to get you to your DREAM OUTCOME!
Getting back to what you enjoy and doing the things you want to without pain is the BR mission. Personalized and unique treatment with a clinical expert is key to this process. You work 1-on-1 with a Doctor of Physical Therapy ONLY. No bouncing around to other therapists.
Dry Needling:
A specialized technique to treat musculoskeletal pain and movement issues associated with myofascial trigger points (painful knots in muscles). During the treatment, thin, monofilament needles are inserted through the skin to treat underlying trigger points. Dry needling can help with a variety of conditions, including headaches, neck pain, back pain, tennis elbow, and carpal tunnel syndrome.
Spinal and Joint Manipulation:
Techniques performed by trained healthcare practitioners to help restore normal function and mobility throughout the spine and other joints of the body. There are different levels of these techniques ranging from light pressure to “popping” the joint. BR will always provide explanation for the level of technique used. If you need you back or neck “adjusted” or “popped” BR can do that.
Cupping Therapy:
A therapeutic technique where suction cups are placed on the body. Cups can be kept in one place for a duration of time (static cupping) or lotion can be applied to the skin prior to placement and moved across tissues during the suction process (dynamic cupping). Cupping can help with releasing trigger points and “knots in your muscles”, stimulating healing via increased blood flow, relieving pain, and activating the immune system to remove waste and toxins from the tissues.
Generalized Orthopedics:
BR specializes in Orthopedic physical therapy. Dr. Sanchez is a Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. Head to toes, muscles or joints, BR can help.
Pre-Post Surgical PT:
Get back to your full potential, regardless of where you are on your post-op journey, just starting, or still not doing what you want to a year or two out. BR can help you!
Sports and Recreational Injuries:
Don’t let that sport or recreational hobby pain fester, nip it in the bud at BR. Been hurting for a while? Let us teach you how to recognize where the pain is coming from, what’s the likelihood it’s going to be a long-term problem, and treatment and management strategies for it.
Telehealth:
Telehealth capabilities through our state-of-the-art electronic medical record system allows you the convenience to discuss what your needs are electronically over video if you desire. When your first face-to-face appointment arrives, you won’t have to waste time telling me what’s going on or filling out forms. We get right to work. Need a Telehealth check-in while you continue working rehab on your own? We can do that too! No more 2 times per week times 6 weeks just to do exercises you can do on your own anyway.
Direct Messaging:
- Have a question, message Dr. Sanchez directly in our state-of-the-art electronic medical record system, and it’s all HIPPA compliant! Message on your home computer or through the patient portal APP; easily downloaded on your smart phone!
